The whole game desensitizes you to killing. I don't remember characters in Max Payne 1 and 2 being in Max Payne 3 so I guess lore-wise Max Payne 3 drops the ball too - I don't even think Max Payne 3 even made any reference to Max Payne 1 and 2 right? except the main incident where his wife and kid died.I don't really like spelling out what stories mean to me, or, like, over-analyzing video games, but I think that was kind of the point. My view on Max Payne 3 has changed, Max Payne 3 of course has the best graphics and gameplay - the story now just seems to be a little crap though I do remember that Max gets a happy ending in that game so that's pretty good - story was okay but compared to 1 and 2 it drops the ball. Though, I don't know why but if remakes would exist - I feel like Rockstar would reboot Max Payne I'm gonna say this again, but Max Payne 1 and 2 remade in today's graphics would be astonishing. Overall, fantastic game - I would like to call this 'the Half Life 2 of the Max Payne series'. sad he died from the bomb blast though :( I think one of the cool missions was when you had to protect Vinnie in the Captain baseball bat boy costume with the squeaky walking - It was so entertaining. Some of the nightmares were insane like the one where there's loads of corridors or the one where Winterson and Mona start shooting at Max which was pretty funny to see.

The hallucination / nightmare scenes return again, I think they were more creepy in Max Payne 1 but I was happy to see they are still in Max Payne 2, they seem to be more 'trippy' with some weird distortion (like you're high basically). On to Vladimir, I didn't expect him to be the main baddie in this game because in the 1st game he helped out Payne but the fact does remain that he was a criminal in the end so best not to trust him. alongside the loading screen artwork with mona dropping down while max holds her and the fact that she doesn't appear in Max Payne 3. though I knew she was going to die anyway in the game considering the game is called "The fall of max payne" so I doubt there's going to be a happy ending (though it can also represent how max payne fell and was 'reborn' at the end). As a whole, the story was honestly awesome - I knew from the first game that Max loved Mona and it is obviously evident in this game. Max Payne got his charges dropped by Woden and became a detective - Now I knew the story was starting to begin. So why was he in Hospital? After playing the whole game - I realised the hospital section was a section near the end of the game and they were just showing his present point. I thought Mona died in Max Payne 1 in the elevator and Max Payne got arrested by the cops at the end of the first game. On to the story, when I started Max Payne 2 - I was confused why Max Payne started in Hospital and was talking about Mona. In addition, one noticeable improvement was the gun sounds, Max payne 1's gun sounds were decent, but Max Payne 2 gun sounds seem more impactful and you can hear them slowdown when in bullet time which is super cool.

The gameplay is also improved, In my max payne 1 thoughts post - I said that the bullet time wasn't as satisfying, but it is a lot more satisfying to use in this game - It seems like Max Payne launches himself slightly higher and he is able to remain on the ground when firing too instead of getting back on his feet directly.
#Max payne 2 ending install
The game uses the same engine as Max Payne 1 but the graphics are literally 10 times better, I was mind blown honestly when I saw the lighting in the hospital, the better textures, the new character models with actual moving 3d faces (i prefer sam luke max payne though :) ), the particle effects, the weather effects like rain, the addition of more in-game cutscenes with comic style cutscenes mixed in - all this for a 2003 game, the game looked amazing and way better than Max Payne 1 - I honestly was shocked and thought to myself, am I even playing the right game? did I accidentally install graphics mods?
#Max payne 2 ending upgrade
This game is literally a big upgrade from Max Payne 1, in every aspect. Couldn't get DGVoodoo working with the game. Unfortunately I had to play on my integrated graphics, so it was lagging when there was lots of fires or particle effects, I couldn't get the game to detect my dedicated graphics card but it ran fine anyway. Max Payne 2: The fall of Max Payne, installed the game and literally played all day. Here was my post, if you haven't seen it. So previously, a few days ago - I just completed Max Payne 1 for the first time and that game was phenomenal.
